  • What Helps Me Stay Grounded When Life Gets Loud

What Helps Me Stay Grounded When Life Gets Loud

There are days that just coast by. Some days the voices in my head are louder than I would like. It’s almost like there are two voices competing to persuade me to think negative or think positive.

Eleven years ago, during the most trying time in my life my childhood best friend asked me one simple question that changed me forever. When I feel this “noise” in my head, I now hear Tonya’s voice that stops me in my tracks everytime….the question was, “What voice are you listening to?”

She explained to me that the enemy is working overtime to feed us lies, confusion, chaos, and fear—because Gods voice would never do that. God brings peace, clarity, and conviction, not condemnation.

Conviction brought by the Holy Spirit, reveals truth and makes us aware of sin, righteousness, and judgment leading us to repentance. God means everything for our good. It does not bring condemnation. John 16:8 is proof of that. Conviction draws us closer; condemnation pushes us away. And God will never push us away.

I fail miserably at times. We all do. But you know who never stops forgiving? God—our Father, Lord, and Savior. He has never left me; it’s me who wanders off path. My spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. (Matthew 26:41)

Staying grounded takes a conscious choice—daily, hourly, sometimes minute by minute. I often have to stop and ask the Holy Spirit to lead me, to calm my mind, and to help me hear truth instead of noise. Our mind plays such a significant role in our overall life, and if we don’t take those thoughts captive, they will take us captive instead.

When life gets loud, I remind myself of this:

God is still whispering. The question is—am I slowing down enough to listen?

  • When Growing Still Feels Like Standing Still

When Growing Still Feels Like Standing Still

Some days I feel like I’m moving forward with God in big, obvious ways. And other days….I feel stuck. Not broken, not rebellious—just still. And for a long time, I thought that meant something was wrong with me.

But lately, God has been showing me this gentle truth: standing still is sometimes part of the growing.

We love the moments where progress is noticeable — doors opening, breakthroughs happening, answers arriving right on time. But what about the slow days? The quiet days? The days where nothing seems to be happening?

I’m learning those days matter just as much.

    The Quiet Work God Does

Roots don’t grow on the surface. They grow down in the dark….unseen.

And that’s where God does some of his best work—in the quiet, unseen places of our lives. When we feel like nothing is changing, He’s strengthening something within us: our endurance, our trust, our maturity, our ability to wait without giving up.

Sometimes grace looks like movement. But sometimes Grace looks like being held still until we’re strong enough to take the next step.

The Pressure To Always Be “Doing”

We live in a world that celebrates progress you can see. New chapters, jobs, goals, achievements.

But God celebrates something deeper:who we are becoming.

    Lately, I’ve been asking myself:

What if the stillness isn’t a setback?

    What if it’s preparation?

What if God is slowing me down so He can grow something in me that can’t grow any other way?

When I look at it that way, the stillness feels more like formation than failure.

Grace For This Part of the Journey

If you’re in a season where you feel like you are not moving forward, let me encourage you: You are not behind. You are not forgotten. And you are definitely not done growing.

God sees every step, even the ones you don’t take.

He values every breath, even in the waiting. He wastes nothing—not the struggle, not the stillness, not the silence.

Growth isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s quiet, hidden, and slow. But it’s still growth.

And when God calls you forward again, you’ll realize that the stillness you resented was the very grace that strengthened you.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for the proper time we will reap a harvest if we don’t give up.”

    Galations 6:9

  • Faith in the Journey: Finding Grace in Everyday Life → Faith Reflections

Faith in the Journey: Finding Grace in Everyday Life → Faith Reflections

Life is a journey–sometimes smooth, sometimes rocky–but I’ve come to realize that every step, every struggle, and every small victory is part of a bigger story. My story. And more importantly, God’s story unfolding in my life.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how easy it is to miss the quiet ways God works in our everyday moments. A smile from a stranger, a helping hand when I least expect it, even a moment of stillness in the chaos of the day–these are all reminders of His presence.

For me, faith isn’t just about the big, life-changing events. It’s about noticing grace in the small, ordinary moments. It’s about learning patience when things don’t go as planned, hope when challenges feel overwhelming, and in the simple blessings that are often overlooked.

Starting this blog is my way of sharing these reflections–not as a teacher or expert, but as someone walking the same or similar journey you might be on. I want to create a space where we can reflect together, find encouragement, and celebrate the quiet work of God in our lives.

Through this blog, I’ll be sharing personal stories, lessons learned from struggles, and glimpses of grace in daily life. My hope is that, in reading these reflections, you’ll be reminded of the hope, faith, and love that surrounds us–even in the most ordinary moments.

So, welcome. Let’s take this journey together, noticing grace along the way and growing in faith step by step,

    -Wendy
